Orange County Commissioner Tiffany Moore Russell; Roberta Walton, President SW Orlando Jaycees; and Yvette Register, State Farm Agent will host the 2 nd Annual Central Florida Women’s Empowerment Summit: “Developing Leaders for the Future” on Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 8:00am—12:00pm, at the Orange County Convention Center. All registered attendees will receive breakfast, workshop, convention parking and conference bag.

Arthur Pappy Kennedy Prayer Breakfast History

ARTHUR “PAPPY KENNEDY” PRAYER BREAKFAST

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF ORLANDO—FAITH HALL

In 1992, the Southwest Orlando Jaycees hosted its 1st Annual Prayer Breakfast. The recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award was Arthur “Pappy” Kennedy. As a result of service and commitment to the community, the Annual Prayer Breakfast was named in his honor. While Pappy Kennedy may have been called home, his spirit and work lives on in the service of the Southwest Orlando Jaycees.

The 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was Johnny L. Rivers.

Make plans to join us as we unveil the 2014 honoree on Monday, January 20, 2014, at 7:45am at the First Baptist Church of Orlando-Faith Hall, 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL. Contact our community partner, the Central Florida YMCA for additional information.
